All payoneer users were just informed by our service representatives at Payoneer that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) instructed MasterCard to block all prepaid cards for local purchases (POS Purchase) made in India within the next few hours, and ATM transactions will probably be blocked soon after. Unfortunately, that includes Payoneer Prepaid MasterCard cards.

Payoneer cards continue to be functional anywhere other than India (including transactions made online on global websites), and all funds in vendors’ accounts are secure. As you probably know, other payment companies have experienced similar temporary restrictions in the past (Paypal, for example) and have taken a few weeks to resolve the situation. As we speak, Payoneer is working on alternative ways for vendors to continue to receive payouts.
